Resource title and description in English VAO monitoring 2019-2021. From 2005 to 2021, air concentrations and depositions of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) were recorded at the three Alpine peaks Sonnblick (A), Weißfluhjoch (CH, until 2013) and Zugspitze (D) in a now 16-year monitoring programme. The present report updates the results of the time series for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/F) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), by the years 2019 to 2021. The PCDD/F and PCB depositions in the years 2019 to 2021 were comparatively lower than in the years before. The PCDD/F and PCB air concentrations in the years 2019 to 2021 on the Zugspitze were in a similar range as in the years before, on the Hohen Sonnblick the concentrations of PCDD/F increased slightly in the last years, those of PCB significantly.
