Resource title and description in English Criteria and thresholds for the assessment of materiality within the meaning of section 181f of the Criminal Code (StGB) of unlawful interference for species of Annex IV Habitats Directive. With amendments to § 181 of the Austrian Criminal Code, which entered into force in 2012, 2015 and 2016, the provisions on criminal offences from the pro tection of species in the Environmental Crime Directive (2008/99/EC) have been transposed into national law. The killing, destruction, possessions or the collec tion of specimens of protected wild animal or plant species are punishable, ex cept where the act concerns a negligible quantity of such specimens and has a negligible effect on the conservation status of the species.
