Resource title and description in English Every six years, the European Union and its Member States prepare a report on the status of habitat types and species of Community interest in fulfillment of Article 17 of the Habitats Directive. The Federal Environment Agency prepared the Austrian Article 17 reports of the years 2007, 2013 and currently of the year 2019 on behalf of the federal states. This report presents the data basis, methodology and results of the 2013-2018 report. Almost one fifth of habitat types and one seventh of species are in a favorable conservation status. Comparing the three reporting periods, the status of 70% of species and 80% of habitat types did not change from 2000 to 2018. For 3% of habitat types and 10% of species, the conservation status improved.
