Resource title and description in English Redistribution of public spaces. More space for walking and cycling and local public transport is an important component of the mobility turnaround. On the one hand, this short study shows the status quo of the distribution of urban transport spaces in favour of motorised individual transport and its negative consequences. On the other hand, it shows the potential of a redistribution: The more areas are dedicated to environmentally friendly modes of transport, the higher their share in the traffic volume will be. Finally, international examples show how more and more cities and municipalities are using innovative approaches to reallocate public space and contribute to the sustainable mobility transition.
