Resource title and description in English | Red list of bumblebees (Bombus spp.) in Austria. For the first time, a national Red List of Austria's bumblebees (genus Bombus) is presented. Of the 45 Austrian bumblebee species, three species are extinct, five species are endangered, seven species are critically endangered and two species are endangered. Five species are on the early warning list; just under half of the species are not endangered. The main causes of endangerment are agriculture-related factors and, in the case of some highly cold-adapted species, also direct consequences of climate change. |
