Resource title and description in English National nitrogen budget (2015-2019) according to EPNB guidelines. The planetary carrying capacity limits for reactive nitrogen have been greatly exceeded. The reason for this is the imbalance between generation and degradation due to human activities. This is associated with negative impacts on the climate, ecosystems and health. This report presents the current status of cross-sectoral sources and sinks of reactive nitrogen flows in Austria and identifies the pathways for direct inflows into the environment. In addition, it analyses the data situation for the potential calculation of the integrated national nitrogen indicator. The report provides a basis for planning measures and reviewing their effectiveness. It was prepared on the basis of the guidelines of the Expert Panel on Nitrogen Budget and enables comparability with other countries.
