Resource title and description in English The mobility transition begins in the mind: changing values and building knowledge. The transport sector is one of the main producers of greenhouse gas emissions. The absolute direct CO2 emissions in passenger car traffic increased by 5.1% between 1995 and 2019 despite technological advances. The data and figures make it clear that the climate goal in the transport sector cannot be achieved without a gradual reduction in driving and a switch to environmentally friendly means of transport. One starting point in particular is the limitation and reduction of driving and traffic performance of motorised individual transport (MIV).
