Resource title and description in English Installations for the intensive rearing of poultry or pigs are subject to the Industrial Emissions Directive above a certain number of animal places. Thus, so-called BAT conclusions are to be used as a reference document for permit conditions for such installations. They describe the best available techniques (BAT). The guidance document supports plant operators and competent authorities in applying the BAT conclusions in intensive livestock farming. Calculation methods are proposed for monitoring ammonia, dust, total excreted nitrogen and phosphorus.
