Resource title and description in English Cultural change - buying behaviour and use of textiles. The cultural change study supports the transformation focus on the textile industry of the Austrian circular economy strategy. Both in the EU strategy on sustainable and recyclable textiles and in national endeavours towards a circular textile economy, consumers and users are crucial for continuous change. Buying habits and behavioural patterns are among the key factors, along with the extended lifespan of textiles. The qualitative interview series examines shifts towards conscious purchasing and longer use of clothing. The analysis of individual reflections on personal purchasing decisions made it possible to formulate recommendations for the design of the clothing range, the promotion and role model effect of used clothing, and for political measures. The latter support the dissemination of new patterns of behaviour by consumers.
