Resource title and description in English Monitoring focus on biocides 2022-2023. The objectives of this study were to examine selected biocidal products with disinfectant active ingredients with regard to compliance with the labelling regulations under chemical and biocidal product law and to analytically check the active ingredients stated on the label. Alcohols, quaternary ammonium compounds, diamine, preservatives and selected allergenic fragrances were analysed. Of 63 products, around 8% of the samples showed deviations from the stated active ingredient content. None of the disinfectants tested contained methanol or problematic substances such as parabens, Lilial or Lysmeral. Almost all of the disinfectants containing fragrances contained allergens, many of them combinations of these substances. A standardised declaration obligation for the labelling of allergenic fragrances via the individual legal standards can increase consumer protection. In general, the use of fragrances is not necessary for the disinfectant effect and should therefore be severely restricted.
